Fitzroy Range

 

Two picture of Cerro Torre in mid day light, viewn from somewhere along the way to the Laguna Torre, and Cerro Fitz Roy in evening light not long before sunset, viewn from the Hotel El Pilar, some 15 km down the road to the Lago Desierto. The village here is El Chalten at the foot of the Fitzroy range. It was founded 1986, and still looks largely like frontier land - very similar to what we can see on old photos of the wild west in the USA. Fitzroy Range is of a beauty i cannot compare to anything i have seen before - neither here in Switzerland nor anywhere else i have been so far.
